Teaser:
Since curfew, Umberto Edgardo has been leaving his factory with his low head and quick steps. Speaking up his mind was a folly he’s dearly paying living in fear, hurrying up to get back home to his wife Adriana and their daughter Marisol. Almost jumping whenever he hears a noise or spots someone unfamiliar in the streets. This is no life. It’s a daily routine made of suspicion, diffidence, silence and scare, of sham and chains. The same iron links he helped forging, now bend his shoulders and clench his throat, strangling him.
Relations:
He’s eyes are no longer shining as they did when he and his wife Adriana Urrutia Assenjo were young. Maria Elena Soza is the nurse who saved his leg after a bad accident, years before. Hector Hernan Gonzales Osorio is more than a friend, he’s like a brother. They are neighbours, and even if they come from a different social class, they deeply respect each other.
